This is just speculation but I’ve had a suspicion that Hawke dies at the end of the game for awhile now. Something David Gaider let slip in a interview once, he was speaking of how Hawke’s skills mature over time and said,
“Well towards the end of Hawke’s life you go from,” Yeaaaaaahhhh. It’s supposed to take place over 10 years but by then Hawke would only be in their 30’s not really towards the end of their life unless they die prematurely. Then I heard the lyrics to Varric’s theme and well had this meme thought. XD
